“Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father.” 1 Thessalonians 1:3
Sometimes we think of Sunday school as a time for children to learn Bible stories, but it’s for adults as well. It is a time to learn from the Word of God and to learn how to apply its principles in our lives.
In addition to classes for nursery age through teens, we have different adult classes called DIG classes. "DIG" is an acronym that stands for "Delighting In God." We want to increase our delight in our God as we "dig" into His Word! Each quarter, new studies begin such as Proverbs, Bible Doctrines, Biblical Finances, Biblical Counseling, the Book of Job, Baptist History, and The Joy of Encouragement.
The DIG classes for Winter of 2020 are as follows:
Love. Learn. Lead. Three Steps To Discipleship
taught by Stephen Pendell
The first part of our class will focus on discipleship, which includes whole-hearted love, learning to learn, and leading without leading. The last part will focus on how to work with specific groups.
Teaching The Bible
taught by Rob Early
This class will provide some practical recommendations for teaching the Bible in a Sunday School class or other setting. Material will be taken from the classic teaching book The Seven Laws of Teaching.
You do not have to be a full-time teacher to profit from this class. You should consider this class if:
- You have an interest in teaching but have little or no experience.
- You have taught but would like to improve your skills.
- You would like to learn more about the teaching process.
- You have taught and can share your experiences with the class.
- You would like to keep the attention of your students.
Who I AM: God’s Self-Revelation
taught by Deborah Reinhardt (Ladies’ Class)
This class follows God's introduction of Himself to Moses and to Israel as they learned to follow and trust Him as their God. The lessons especially focus on why and how God made Himself known. We will consider content from Exodus to Deuteronomy.
